Jussie Smollett victim of homophobic aggression
The actor of the hit series Empire was sprayed with bleach after being beaten.
Jussie Smollett plays the role of Jamal Lyon in the series, Empire. A talented, weighted but homosexual singer. His sexual orientation in the series is a cause for alarm. Which is also the case in real life. Jussie Smollett does not only play the role of a gay but he is also one in reality. An issue that disturbs as much.
Last January 29th at about 2 a.m., the actor was assaulted by two masked white men. They beat him, put a rope round his neck, then sprayed him with bleach. This aggression was considered both homophobic and racist.
This act was followed by a warning. Indeed, a few days before this attack, the production of the series “Empire” received a letter of threat to the attention of Jussie Smollett. His safety was reinforced, but he did not want to be surrounded by big arms outside the shooting hours of. His assailants thus took the opportunity to attack him.
The actor was hospitalized after this violent aggression and has not been able to go for the shooting of the series since then. The police and the FBI are conducting the investigation.
