Men’s rush to institute for care

By  |  0 Comments

For reasons of well-being in Cameroon, the males are more and more likely to storm these of beauty institutes. They are men in their forties and more, dressed in costumes, of Boubou or more simply who wait in turns to pass to the care cabin…

It is 3pm this Wednesday in a beauty institute located in the Akwa district in Douala Cameroon and the customers begin to flock. Movements that are explained by the fact that, “This hour of the day is a rush hour.” The gentlemen who are currently coming are on break for some or at the end of their working day for others, ” says Audrey, aesthetician. She adds that, “The majority of our clients are officials and executives.” And it is important to note that our care and prices are not at the reach of everyone. ”

Thus, in beauty institutes reserved only for men or mixed spaces (men and women), prices vary depending on the choice made. The choice of a client can be carried out on a burst, pedicures and manicures, facials and body scrub, the hammam, the sauna and the massage. It is then necessary to pay at least 10 000 FCFA to make yourself beautiful in certain spaces. In others, 45 000 FCFA packs offering five treatments are offered to customers.

48% of the clientele is male

The certified medical aesthetician, promoter of B Com Bel, talks about the rush of men to beauty institutes observed in the last three years…

What kind of care do men prefer?

In the last three years, the rise of men to beauty institutes is increasingly being felt. They request much more of foot care otherwise called pedicure. It’s the number one preference. Manicure comes in second position and then there is facial care. There is the massage that is also requested, but this under specific conditions. Generally, this demand is great for those who work or those who drive vehicles and who sit all day long. They need to destress themselves. In fact, wearing closed shoes all the time is a factor conducive to the development of bacterial and fungal infections. This requires a proper hygiene of the socks and if this is not done, there will be a proliferation like a broth of culture where the microbes will grow between the toes.

How often do you receive male clients in your institute?

At “B Com Bel”, the male gender represents 48% of the clientele. This thanks to the advent of social networks too. Because with all these calls, videos, selfies, statutes and profiles where we need to appear presentable, men have also understood the importance to improve on their image and looks. The men for two or three years already, are more and more regular contrary to the past years, where they came once after two months. The males remains the best plan, the best opportunity. Already they do not argue the prices and they are very loyal when they get a satisfactory result. This requires professional work. You have to know how often to make a pedicure, what are the problems that fall within the areas of the aesthetician, and what are the problems where to send the client do a consult for example.

As a woman, how do you enjoy this category of men?

It goes without saying that a man who takes care of himself is much cleaner, and necessarily reflects something more appreciable on the physical than on the health side. Someone who has the reflex to take care of himself, will also manage his diet to maintain his build up and all that comes with it. We love when men are clean, the face neat as well as the feet do not smell when they get out of the shoe, and that hair is not found everywhere.
