Vlisco fashion Fund 2018 won by Togolese Designer

Placca Anoumou received the cash prize of 3 million CFA francs.

The 5th edition of the Vlisco Fashion Fund delivered its verdict on December 15, 2018. Placca Anoumou, a young Togolese designer, succeeded in convincing the jury with his project. His Specialization in the creation of women’s outfits, enabled him distinguish himself among the 69 other applications. He received the sum of three million CFA francs. The sum which he said, will allow him to renovate his workshop and open a showroom.

In addition to the cash price, Pathak Sammy is entitled to a stay at the Vlisco headquarters in Holland for a capacity building program. He will also benefit from a training course in a sewing school, La Meester Coupeur, based in Amsterdam.

Driven by a passion for fashion since his childhood, Placca Anoumou studied design and modelling at the Mosaics style in Lomé for four years. In 2017, he enhanced his techniques with Fall Touré at the Fashion Art Academy of Lome Togo (Faalt).

The Vlisco Fashion Fund aims at revealing talented young designers and give them visibility. Placca Anoumou is the second Togolese to win this award, after Nina Lavoe in 2017.
