Blac Chyna: The cream that doesn’t sell

 The Influencer and ex-girlfriend of Bob Kardashian recently associated her image with a lightening product marketed in Nigeria. The controversy soon germinated.

 

Angela White aka Blac Chyna is at the heart of a lively controversy right now. Former stripper who became an influencer on Instagram and reality TV star, Rob Kardashian’s ex-girlfriend was chosen as the muse of Whitenicious, a Nigerian brand of lightening products that offers her a cream in her name. The young woman also made the trip to Lagos on the occasion of the launch party.

Blac Chyna is not only criticized for lightening her skin herself , but mainly for her message that refers to the choice of publicly associating her image with a company that promotes the whitening of the skin as a criterion of acceptance in society. This is one of the reasons why Instagram influencer has received virulent criticism of social networks.

The cream in question is sold at 220 euros. Skin Depigmentation is a public health problem. But the phenomenon is very present in Nigeria. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), 77% of Nigerians were stripping their skin in 2011.
