The Senegalese Mike Sylla crowned in the United Kingdom…

His concepts known as Baïfall Dream and the Human had already captivated attention.  And everything did not end there because it is also thanks to them that he won the International Sewing and Fashion Award of Bexlive at Birmingham in the UK. A prize he owes to his contribution to the innovation and initiation of new ideas in artistic and cultural creations…

It was on November 6th that Mike Silla received his prize. A reward the man presented as a “figure of cultural activism” is dedicated to Africa and especially to his country Senegal, to the African youth, to the talents and to the diaspora, for the promotion and development of the continent. Native of Medina a district of Dakar in Senegal, he defines himself: simply as a developer designer, rather unifying. What I like about this ideology is to get out of the artistic framework and go to the human being. All the work aims to achieve development in a spirit of sharing, as I learned in my neighbourhood of medina in Dakar, he explained on TV5 Monde.

With many parades/shows to his credit, he knows how to combine leather and suede with an innovative, creative style that highlights several universal tendencies. He is the first African to win in 2013, the Designers Choice Award of Miami in the United States and the International Excellence Award of Indiana Black Expo (USA) for the best designer and for his work carried out within the African diaspora or Afro in the world.
