Congolese Dorcas Dienda crowned Miss Africa

The 24-years Congolese lady, Dorcas Dienda has just been elected Miss Africa. She won the final of this beauty competition last December 28 in Calabar, Nigeria...

She distinguished herself among the finalists from Zambia, Sierra Leone, Ghana and Nigeria, whose representative arrived 2nd. 25 countries, including Cameroon, Morocco, Tanzania, Togo and Ghana took part in the competition.

Miss Africa 2017, Dorcas Dienda was crowned by Gaseangwe Balopi. She also pocketed 35,000 dollars and a car.

During her one year term, she will carry the ideals of this project set up in 2016 being to empower young women and allow them to be heard.

The December 28 ceremony was marked by performances by Nigerian music stars notably Tiwa Savage and 2face Idibia.

Dorcas Dienda will have to initiate a project that includes the creation of a non-governmental organization to encourage women to hold leadership positions or to create a charitable organization.
