The horror film generated more than 70 million dollars at the first weekend of operation.

The film “Us” by Jordan Peele made a thundering outing last weekend. With over 70 million worth of entries, it becomes the third best start in the history of the box office for a horror film, behind “Ça” in 2017 and “Halloween” released in 2018.

This is not the only record that “Us” can boast of. Jordan Peele’s film also has the merit of dethroning “Captain Marvel” at the head of the box office. The superhero movie, starring Brie Larson in the lead role has earned over 910 million worldwide in 19 days of theatrical release.

“Us” was not particularly acclaimed by critics. But, the film is already in the box office. It tells a scary story. Everything has started well for the lead family, who is going to find friends for a stay at the seaside. The holidays turn sour when the son disappears on the beach. As a result, the family faces strange events, including neighbours who have the same appearance as each of its members.

“Us” includes actors such as Lupita Nyongo’o, Winston Ducke, Elisabeth Moss, Tim Heidecker in his cast.
